Liposuction Orlando, FL

Liposuction, sometimes referred to as “lipo” by patients, is one of the most common aesthetic surgical procedures. Liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body. Also known as lipoplasty, or suction-assisted lipectomy, this procedure is used to contour and shape specific areas.

Before and After Photos

A healthy diet and exercise program may still leave stubborn fat deposits in certain areas. These deposits may be genetic and very difficult to remove with diet and exercise. Liposuction is great in dealing with these hard-to-change areas. What distinguishes Dr. Azad from other surgeons is not only removes the fat, but he sculpts the body into the slimmer body that you desire.

Liposuction is not a remedy for obesity and should not be looked to as a replacement for a healthy diet and exercise program. Neither should it be considered a weight loss surgery. Liposuction can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a Facelift, Breast reduction, or Tummy tuck. Liposuction techniques may be used to reduce localized fat deposits of the; thighs, hips and buttocks, abdomen and waist, upper arms, back, inner knee, chest area, cheeks, chin and neck, calves and ankles.

FAQ

Does Liposuction produce permanent results?

Liposuction produces a more or less permanent new body shape. The fat cells removed by liposuction do not grow back, however, if a patient gains a moderate amount of weight after receiving liposuction, the figure will simply be a larger version of the new body shape. If a patient were to gain a significant amount of weight, the degree of fat accumulation in a liposuction-treated area is proportionately less than in an untreated area. The advances in aging will continue to produce the usual changes in body shape, however, the benefits of liposuction will always be apparent.

How much fat can be removed from the body at once?

The maximum amount of fat that can safely be removed is 4 to 5 liters (6 to 8 pounds). There is a greater risk of serious complications if a higher volume of fat is removed in a single day. If a patient requires more fat to be removed, it is recommended to divide the liposuction into separate surgical procedures. The second procedure can often be done 3 to 4 weeks after the initial procedure.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Liposuction is not a weight loss solution, it is a contouring/sculpting procedure, and patients should not expect to lose a dramatic amount of weight from the procedure. However, the produces significant improvements in aesthetic appearance because fat is removed from cosmetically important areas, such as the hips, flanks, thighs, and stomach.

What is the expected recovery time?

Recovery time is highly dependent on the patient and the extent of the surgery. Before leaving the center, you will be given specific instructions on how to care for your incisions, what medications to use, and when to follow up with Dr. Azad. It is generally recommended to take between 3-7 days off after the surgery, depending on how many areas were worked on, and your pain tolerance. It is important to note the more active one is, the amount of swelling will increase and the time before you will see your final cosmetic result will also increase.

Can Liposuction be performed along with other procedures?

Yes, it can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, breast reduction, or tummy tuck.
