Breast Reduction Cost, Prices & Financing
Updated: Jul 4, 2021
Breast reduction cost is dependent on the patient’s anatomy and technique performed to achieve the best results. Costs associated with a breast reduction include surgeon’s fee, facility fees, anesthesia fees, and lab and garment costs. A surgeon’s fee includes the doctor’s time during the operation, office visits, expertise, and all of your care. This cost is highly dependent on the technique and its level of difficulty needed to achieve ultimate results.
Breast Reduction Cost & Associated Fees
Facility fees are related to the operating room costs and prices vary greatly, though it is important to have your surgery performed at an accredited center, rather than someone’s office clinic. Anesthesia fees will vary as well, though breast reduction procedures are performed under general anesthesia.
Lab costs are any medical tests that needed before the surgery to ensure the patient is in good health. Garment costs refer to the compression bras needed post surgery to help reduce swelling and speed the recovery time.
Medical insurance may cover the cost of breast reduction surgery if the purpose of the procedure is to alleviate pain and physical discomfort caused by oversized breasts. There are many factors determining eligibility, including the specific terms of an individual’s insurance policy. Insurance cases are performed at a hospital as an outpatient procedure.
Procedures that are not covered by insurance are performed at a surgery center instead of a hospital.
