Tummy tuck, also called a full Abdominoplasty, involves removal of the redundant skin below the belly button, pulling down the redundant skin above the belly button, and the tightening of the abdominal muscles to reconstruct the abdominal wall. This is necessary in abdominal contouring for most patients whose muscles have separated after pregnancy and/or moderate to severe weight gain. Another type of Abdominalplasty is referred to the mini Abdominoplasty. This procedure only removes redundant skin from below the belly button and tightening of the lower abdominal muscle.
