Preparation

When preparing for Lipo360, you may be asked to undergo lab testing to ensure you are medically cleared to undergo this procedure. You may be asked to refrain from taking blood-thinning medications and supplements at least two to four weeks in advance. You will need to arrange for time away from work and other commitments, as well as transportation home after the procedure. It is advised to fill any prescriptions ahead of time, and if applicable, nicotine use should cease at least eight weeks before your appointment.

Procedure

Dr. Azad typically performs Lipo360 with the patient under general anesthesia in an outpatient setting. The duration of each procedure can vary, but it typically takes Dr. Azad one to two hours to perform.

At the beginning of the appointment, Dr. Azad will cleanse and sanitize your skin, and an anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr. Azad will strategically place small incisions in discreet areas around the treatment area. He will then inject a tumescent solution containing epinephrine, lidocaine, and saline into the treatment area to help constrict the blood vessels, numb the area locally, and swell the fat cells so they are easier to remove. (2) He will then insert a small suctioning tube called a cannula through the same incisions, moving it back and forth to help break up the excess fat before gently removing it from the body. Dr. Azad will repeat this process circumferentially until he achieves your desired sculpt.

Recovery

After your procedure, you may experience swelling, bruising, or tenderness around the treated areas. These symptoms are temporary and typically decrease over the following weeks. During this time, you will need to wear the compression garment that we provide. This garment is designed to minimize swelling and support your new contours as you heal. Most patients can return to work within one to two weeks, but will need to continue avoiding strenuous or physical activities until cleared to return.
